The Covid-19 global pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on economies and industries around the world this year. Our research highlights the tourism industry in particular, and focuses on the country of Thailand. With Thailand’s economy relying heavily on tourism and hospitality, our research team is critically analyzing the effects that the pandemic has had on the country’s labor force, political and democratic climate, and economy as a whole. Our article evaluates the implications on large hotel chains, small agencies business, proposing mitigation strategies for these actors, and focuses on how the Thai government should respond at both a domestic and international level.
